Eurohike Rydal 400 Air with Bedroom and Separate Living Area, 4 Man Tent, Inflatable Tent for 4 People, Camping Equipment
About this deal
I’ve always wanted to write a Eurohike Rydal 500 review just to let everyone know how brilliant this tent is for a family. In fact, it is a brilliant entry-level tent not just for families, but for everyone from 2-5 people occupancy. Eurohike Rydal 600 Family Tent is a budget tent, but as you realize from the text above it is loaded with very good features, and its organization of space is very good. The dark bedrooms environment is something extra here and you cannot miss to noticeit. It is tall and you can stand up and walk in every part of it. This is a great tent for family camping, with plenty of space. Besides the large mesh door panel, the sunlight can get in through two PVC see-through windows; however, these do not open.
The tent is secured to the ground by steel pegs and high visibility (red) guy lines that have a high and a low connection point on the air beams. Doors As for other products within the Eurohike Air range ie accessories, replacement parts; there are a few choices. Of course, you can buy air tubes and valves in case something goes wrong, however in case a beam leaks air it most likely can be mended temporarily by using the repair kit that is included with the Air 400. My Best Air Tents in 2020 (round-up post) may also give you some more ideas what’s worth looking at. The Eurohike Air tents – Air 400 & Air 600 – are one of the lowest priced inflatable tents in their respective category. They only come in these two sizes (4 person and 6 person), and only come in one colour (navy blue).
Eurohike Rydal 500 Review
The bedroom divider can be removed if you’d rather have one big bedroom. As a matter of fact, the whole ‘inner tent’ can be removed if you needed more living space during the day. As the Air 400 does not have a 2 nd side door, nor a window on that wall, so the dark blue panel made me feel a wee-bit ‘enclosed’; and the Eurohike Air 400 can feel smaller than it actually is. A bespoke footprint is available to protect the groundsheet from uneven ground and to help retain the heat.
As you enter the tent, you find approximately 6 sqm living area. It is big enough for two camping chairs and a smaller camping table, while you can still maintain comfortable access to the rooms and have some gear stored as well. In terms of ‘living room size’ it is very decent – some much more expensive 4-person tents have smaller living room (see this post here for more than one example: 4-Person Air Tents (Mid-range)) ; however, the porch area is minimal. There isn’t a bespoke carpet for the Rydal 500, but it is compatible with the Eurohike Medium tent carpet– again, not expensive and helps a lot protecting the groundsheet. Eurohike Rydal 500 Pole Repair Kit The Eurohike Rydal 400 Air sleeps 4 sleeps four in a single bedroom but is very practical in offering extra space for couples.
The fabric is 100 % polyester: it is soft and more importantly is breathable, condensation can pass through easier. The tent is suitable for a 3-season use, in my view it is best suited for a cooler environment. The reason for this is the fact that it is with PVC windows and there is no mesh on the ceiling. Such a structure keeps the warmth well but it can become too warm in a sunny and warm climate. Tent Carpet: there is a triple layer tent carpet available. It features a soft fleece upper and foam mid-section for underfoot warmth and comfort, and a tough waterproof base to protect the carpet against abrasion and the damp groundsheet. Verdict (Pros & Cons) Pros: The Vango Icarus 500 is very similar to the Eurohike Rydal 500 – detailed review of the Vango Icarus 500 can be found here. The Vango is slightly bigger, and slightly pricier, but there is an option to attach a bespoke awning to the Vango Icarus 500 which increases versatility as well as improves weather protection. The PVC windows are with flaps from inside, you only have toggles so there are no many options to chose at what height to position them. Ventilation
The shell fabric is polyester with 2000 mm waterproof rating. The floor is fully sewn-in and sealed, and the inner rooms are with their additional floor so you have two layers in that area. Seams are taped throughout the shell and the floor. This all is good enough for normal weather conditions in a 3-season use. The Coleman Mosedale 5 is another popular alternative: very similar to the Rydal 500 size-wise, but the fabrics (both flysheet and the groundsheet) are a big improvement compared to the Rydal 500 – again, reflected in the price. Detailed review of the Coleman Mosedale 5 here. The Rydal 600 is a tunnel-type tent designed with 3 rooms that can accommodate up to 6 people. So this is an elongated structure with three arches/poles of different size and the setup is very easy, as typical for tunnel type tents, see the floor plan below.
