The three colours are representative of native ethnic groups of Africa (black), Africa's sunshine (yellow), and African brotherhood (red being the colour of blood, through which all Africans are connected). We expect our durable outdoor quality printed flags to last as well as sewn flags whilst flying much better at lower wind speeds. This work is ineligible for copyright and therefore in the public domain because it consists entirely of information that is common property and contains no original authorship. Our hand sewn Uganda (1914 - 1962) Flags are manufactured from our 155gsm Ministry of Defence approved woven polyester flag fabric, the highest quality fabric available for outdoor flag making. The flag of Uganda ( Swahili: Bendera ya Uganda) was adopted on 9 October 1962, the date that Uganda became independent from the British Empire.
The Uganda flag features six horizontal bands in the colors of black, yellow, red, black, yellow, and red. We print the Ugandan flag graphic on the national flags, which are ready to use in several settings, including commercial and non-commercial. Do not place the flag where the wind will whip it against rough surfaces, tree branches, wires, cables etc, as this can seriously harm your flag. The first proposed flag got thicker green and blue vertical stripes disjointed by narrow yellow stripes.

Red is the color of blood that connects the people as well as symbolizing the energy and passion of the Uganda people and nation. The grey crowned crane is fabled for its gentle nature and was also the military badge of Ugandan soldiers during British rule. The grey crowned crane is considered to be a bird with a peaceful and gentle nature which represents the people of Uganda and their nature.
